Home Repair Team
The Home Repair Team of FUMC El Dorado was formed several years ago as a means to reach out to those
who need a helping hand...both in our church family and in our community. Depending on the size of
the job, anywhere from 2 to 20 team members tackle various projects. Some of these projects have been
referrals from Care Net, others suggested by members of the church. The group has worked on a wide
variety of jobs including some of the following:
- Built a home with Habitat for Humanity
- Installed flooring for the Methodist Children's Home in Magnolia
- Assisted in the refurbishing of Fellowship Hall
- Installed new windowpanes and did general cleanup for an elderly woman in our community
- Completely roofed a house in Smackover
- Did a home make-over so that a needy family could move in
- Built several wheelchair ramps
The group is open to men and women of any age. All that is required is a desire to reach out and help others.
