The 26th annual Adele MacFarlane Preaching Series was held the weekend of November 16-18, 2007.
This year's series consisted of workshops on Friday night and Saturday in which couples learned
sound biblical principles to improve communication resulting in greater depth in their marriages.
On Sunday, both worship services centered around God's great idea for marriage. We were honored
to have Drew & Kit Coons from Little Rock as the speakers for this event.
Holiday Bazaar 2007

The Wednesday Workers held their annual Holiday Bazaar on Thursday, November 8, 2007 from 7:00
'til 11:00 in Fellowship Hall. The event included handmade crafts and holiday decorations, a
wide variety of baked and preserved items, and tons of "Trash & Treasure". The featured item
in this year's bazaar was the fabulous dollhouse lovingly handcrafted and decorated by Ginny
& Nick Macchiarolo. The dollhouse was sold by silent auction to Mrs. David Yocum for $1000.
The Adult Ministry sponsored a trip to Little Rock on August 4, 2007.
Pictured here are those that took advantage of the outing and enjoyed a
visit to the Clinton Library and the River Market.
After only six weeks of work, close to 25 completed shawls, a baby shawl and several "works in progress"
were presented at the Sanctuary Service on June 24, 2007. Pastor Pam Brule led the congregation in a
beautiful prayer of hope and healing for the individuals who will receive each shawl. Infants under
age one will receive a baby shawl upon their baptism at FUMC. The large shawls will be delivered to
shut-ins, the ill and bereaved, and those with other needs. Forms are available in the church office.
People are needed to deliver the shawls as well as crafters to make them, so there are many ways to
contribute.
Please prayerfully consider joining this ministry!
Rio Bravo - May 2007
For the second year in a row, FUMC sponsored a mission trip to Rio Bravo, Mexico in conjunction with
Manos Juntas (Hands Together) Mexico. During the week of May 13-18, team members built a large casita
(12x20 with a loft), set the fence posts for the first "Food Bank" in Rio Bravo, and conducted a
Mission Bible School at a local church. The 18 team members, including two members of First Presbyterian,
were Pat Anthony, Pam Brule, Kay & Scott Hardin, Bob Lolley, Becki Lusk, Cindy & Rick McKinnon,
Callie McKinnon, Robin & Mike Morrison, Daniel Polk, Patty Polk, Carolyn & Ron Robinson, Kelly Sheppard,
Victoria Sheppard, and Carol Stephenson.
Both morning worship services were blessed with the gospel music of the Rouse Family Singers on
April 22, 2007. Billy Joe, Rhonda, and Leah Rouse gave a
Spirit-lifting performance as they shared their faith through music.

Stained Glass Restoration
The stained glass windows in the Sanctuary are currently being restored to their original glory.
Laukhuff Stained Glass out of Memphis, TN is doing the restoration work. Just a couple of windows
are removed at a time, piece by piece,
and taken to Memphis to be cleaned and repaired. It's a lengthy process, but well worth it in the end!

John Lusk was honored as the recipient of the Special Mission Recognition Award during the Sanctuary
service on February 18. In the 16 years our Unit has presented this award, he is only the second man
to receive the honor.
UMW members led the service which included a memorial to those members who died during the past year.
Pam Brule preached on "Women In Mission" and special music was provided by Mary Depper and Margaret
Pierce.

The Hanna Building was the scene of a wild and crazy Valentine Celebration on Sunday evening
(February 11, 2007). Following a delicious Italian meal, guests were serenaded by "3 Hymns &
and Her" and "LOVE Acoustics". The highlight of the evening was "The Wedding Game" with the
Odens, Thorntons, Morgans and Bells on the "hotseat". All donations during the evening went
to the Rio Bravo Mission Fund. Many thanks to ALL who contributed!
